Entertaining and informative as always. The gut leak piece made me really consider what I consume or put my internal body through to contribute to this… alcohol definitely hence I really don’t drink anymore, stress causes bloating (excess cortisol I think) and I’m also considering that maybe HRT was also causing this inflammation….?? The best stress relief though for me is movement and animals, honestly they never ever fail to make me smile… including see other peoples.. I genuinely think they teach us so much and are the best antidepressants, anti aging, all round wonder therapy. Happy February to you all xx

I totally agree about animals, Kate. They are so grounding and put things into perspective.
Re HRT, it’s a case of getting it right. Oestrogen can be anti-inflammatory.
You’re right about cortisol. The gut-brain connection also affects the gut microbiota and that drives inflammation and bloating too.
It’s wonderful that you exercise but you also take rest days, which is vital. Also brilliant that you don’t drink. Xx
A beautiful read… you are a book. X
Thank you Ness. Xx
