Heal the world, make it a better place...
That's our aim on our birthday, and always. There's also a present for you.
This isn’t one of my great big newsletters with diagrams of cells, or anything, so don’t worry! It’s one that’s about our 13th birthday!
It’s 13 years today since I left my old job as a cartographer with Natural England, where I’d been for 28 years, to fling myself wholeheartedly into starting fitnaturally, as we were called then. This wasn’t easy, my Natural England colleagues were like my family and I didn’t stop crying buckets for at least a fortnight!
I have to say it was a bit chaotic for a while – I had a primary-school-age child and all the lovely stuff and hard work goes with it, I was personal training, training for marathons and triathlons, and used to work until all hours after he was in bed - my little sweetheart. I still do that but he’s 6ft 3in and has moved out now!
Anyway, it quickly took off, and at the start it was mostly nutrition for athletes, but gradually all sorts of people were coming to me for nutrition support, so things broadened and we started nutrition plans for lots of different people. And then came Thomas Thomarto – at first a client, then very soon an interested critic, then a colleague. And he too became like family. And then Iain, one of my big brothers, came in to the business too, thank the lord, otherwise I would have been bankrupt – my accounting and money-management skills are ridiculous. A while after that Khara came to join the team, at a time when our personalised nutrition plans took off to the sky and I needed a very capable hand with them.
Along the way we raised over £100k for charity with our Every Day in May event each year. I got Scout, my soul dog, who went to heaven last year, then Butty the little old rescue Jack Russel, then Lottie a little while later, then Evie the sausage minx, then Moss who also broke my heart when he went to heaven last year too, and now the gorgeous Sedge - so that’s six dogs since we started!
I somehow managed to study for five years, for a degree in nutritional therapy and graduated last year. Then there’s been the sourdough teaching – a friend taught me to make it, well over ten years ago, then I passed the skill on to loads of people who did our free sourdough workshops.
Best of all, I have worked with more than a thousand wonderful clients, some of whom are still with us now and have been since the start. I’ve worked with people all over the world, from Greece to Italy, Thailand, Saudi, S Africa, New Zealand, Australia, the Netherlands, and lots in America. I’ve made lifelong friends, and laughed and cried with them and shared their life’s ups and downs. I’ve seen many ‘Nuush babies’ born and have felt so proud to have nourished their mums, and often their dads too! We supported people through Covid and all of that weird and stressful time - providing a constant source of reassurance and continuity.
And then there has been all of you gorgeouses, around every day on my phone and computer, sending likes and encouragement, and lots of discussion.
I can’t say it’s been easy, nothing wonderful ever is. But boy has it been (and still is) fulfilling and heart-warming. I get to do the thing I love every day of my life, supported by the best people in Iain and Thomas, and I know that so many people’s lives have been made better because of it.
Thank you for being here too ♥️
Nuush has made it to the teenage years!
If you are on Insta, I made a reel about it all, it’s here. Of course it features the dogs, as I know you love them more than you love me 😂
A little, but quite big, present for you
Just lately, I’ve been working with the loveliest business coach and she has given me a roasting about not valuing enough what Nuush offers. We’ve kept our prices the same since Covid, in 2020 - this made her jaw drop to the floor! It was because I wanted to make sure everyone could carry on getting the health benefits of Nuush. I’m still waiting for my Business Woman of The Year award to arrive….
But
Instead of putting prices up for everyone, which would worry me to death, we’re keeping our prices the same for life, for all of our existing members - yes FOR LIFE. And if you join between now and this coming Sunday (25th May 2025) you will be an existing member and get the price for life!
So hurry, join yourself up before this Sunday!
Here’s what’s changing for new joiners from next Monday, 26th May 2025.
Nutrition for Everyone and Nourish & Fast plans will be £39/month (or £105/quarter)
Personalised nutrition plans will rise by £5pw to £55/week (or £198/month)
